- The gas pipeline is 690 kilometres long and follows the same route as the Baku Tbilisi Ceyhan Pipeline as far as the border between Georgia and Turkey
 - The pipeline is fed by gas from the Shah Deniz Gas Field following purification at the Sangachal Oil and Gas Processing Terminal
 - The capacity of the pipeline is being increased, to transport gas from phase II of Shah Deniz
