+++ Description
* The field produces [[[Asgard Crude Oil]]] a light sweet crude as well as Gas and Condensate
* Oil is produced from [[[Åsgard A FPSO]]] (floating production, storage and offloading) vessel one of the largest of its kind in the world. Äsgard A has a production capacity of 200,000 barrels per day (b/d) and a storage capacity of 910,000 barrels
* Natural gas and condensate is produced from the Äsgard B platform, with a natural gas processing capacity of 13 billion cubic meters/year and a condensate capacity of 100,000 b/d
* Åsgard C is a ship that is used to store gas condensate
* Oil and condensate are temporarily stored at the field and shipped to land by tankers. The gas is exported through Åsgard Transport to [[[Karsto Gas Processing Plant]]]. The condensate from Åsgard is sold as oil (Halten Blend).

* The **Åsgard subsea compression project** will be realised in 2015, as the first of its kind in the world. Compressors will be installed on the seabed, instead of on a platform. This will improve recovery from the Mikkel and Midgard reservoirs by around 280 million barrels of oil equivalents.
* **Smorbukk South Extension Project** holds estimated recoverable reserves of 16.5 million barrels of oil equivalent, and will be developed with a new subsea template connected to existing infrastructure

+++ Geology
* The Smørbukk deposit is a rotated fault block, bordered by faults in the west and north and structurally deeper areas to the south and east. The reservoir formations Garn, Ile, Tofte, Tilje and Åre are of Jurassic age and contain gas, condensate and oil.
* The Smørbukk Sør deposit, with reservoir rocks in the Garn, Ile and Tilje Formations contains oil, gas and condensate. The Midgard gas deposits are divided into four structural segments with the main reservoir in the Garn and Ile Formations.
* The sandstone reservoirs lie at depths of as much as 4 850 metres. The reservoir quality varies between the formations, and there are large differences in porosity and permeability between the three deposits.
